SUMA will be exhibiting at this year’s IFAT Munich, the world’s leading trade fair for environmental technologies, from 4 to 7 May. The focus of the 60 m² exhibition space at booth 534 in hall B1 will be on agitation technology for efficient wastewater treatment.
Mixing technology: the key to the circular economy
A particular focus of IFAT 2026 is on circularity and resource recovery. SUMA makes a significant contribution in this regard: with its high-performance agitators, the company ensures homogeneous mixing and even temperature distribution in the digestion tanks of wastewater treatment plants, thereby creating optimal conditions for anaerobic digestion. This is how sewage sludge is converted into energy and heat, often on a scale sufficient to cover a large proportion of a facility's energy requirements. "Demand for effective agitation technology is growing, particularly in sewage sludge recovery and wastewater treatment, as organic residues are increasingly being used for energy generation. Plants are no longer just for disposal or recycling; they actively contribute to the circular economy. This is a trend that is also reflected in the key topics of this year's IFAT,” explains Thomas Pielucha, Head of Sales at SUMA.
Product highlights at IFAT 2026
As manufacturer of stirring technology SUMA does not only offer solutions for fermentation processes. At the trade fair, SUMA will also be showcasing a selection of submersible mixers for use in wastewater treatment.
- OPTIMIX 2G 30-30: The flow generator circulates large volumes of water.
- OPTIMIX 2A 15-720 made of ss304: The agitator offers high corrosion resistance even when used with aggressive media and at low pH levels.
- OPTIMIX 4G 150-135: The submersible mixer impresses with its high thrust.
Maximum efficiency and operational reliability
In view of the increasing demands for cost-effectiveness in the wastewater sector, SUMA places particular emphasis on maximum operational reliability, minimal maintenance times and a holistic approach. The modular design of the agitators enables components to be replaced quickly and minimises downtime. In addition, SUMA relies on flow-optimised propellers and data-driven CFD simulations, which perfectly complement the decades of practical experience gained from its own test tank.
Shaping the future with experience and enthusiasm
“IFAT is far more than just a trade fair – it is a platform for everyone who is actively shaping the future of sustainable resource management,” says Pielucha. “Our goal is to give visitors a clear understanding of the significant impact our mixing technology has on the performance of their processes. At the same time, we want to highlight what sets us apart: sophisticated engineering, enthusiasm for our industries and many years of experience.”
