Cavitation

Cavitation refers to the formation and dissolution of vapour-filled cavities in liquids.

If the substrate is relatively liquid and the agitator blade plates protrude from the substrate during agitation or are only slightly covered, cavitation can occur. This can damage the agitator blade.

The upper edge of the agitator blade should therefore be covered by the substrate by at least 10 to 30 cm. An immersion probe can help here to ensure that the agitator blade is really covered when the fill level changes.
