suma FAQ

Why is it necessary to stir manure / digestate before spreading?

Manure / Digestate should always be homogenized by stirring before spreading. Consistent fertilization is only possible with a homogeneous substrate. Manure tends to form floating layers during storage. To enable complete emptying of the tanks and to achieve homogeneous nutrient distribution in the tank and later on the field, stirring must be carried out in advance. Stirring can be done either with a stationary manure agitator, a submersible motor or a tractor-driven rod agitator. Depending on the size of the manure pit, several agitators can be used at the same time for homogenization.
